Payroll Training Tips & Techniques for Independent Sales Reps

A little payroll training will give you some basic knowledge and some tricks of the trade to successfully refer payroll from your current business clients. Then let your additional stream of income begin--and, since we offer residual commission for the life of the client, the power of compounding can really increase your income as time goes on.

The business owners you speak to about your current services are the same people who make the decisions about payroll. You talk to small business owners about a variety of services every day. By simply introducing payroll into your current conversations, you can maximize your earning potential while making each conversation you have that much more valuable to you both.

We have two "levels" of payroll referral reps:

Our Payroll Referral Program is for those people with some business to business experience, but are relatively unfamiliar with selling payroll.

Our Payroll Sales Program is for experienced payroll sales professionals who are more comfortable with the ins and outs of payroll sales and can take on more of the sales process--at a higher commission rate.

How Does Payroll Work?

If you don’t know much about payroll, we’ve put together a brief overview of the payroll process and how payroll works. A working knowledge of the basic timeline and vocabulary will help you speak knowledgeably with business owners. Learn How Payroll Works here.

Why PayPros, Inc. Payroll?

PayPros offers your clients the “best of both worlds:” A national company that is large enough to be financially stable and offers all the “bells and whistles” if your client requires them, but small enough to offer the personalized service of local companies.

Get a Current Invoice

The key to successfully referring payroll is simply to get a current payroll invoice from the business owner, and refer the lead to us. When we close the deal, you get paid. Although you will obviously want to be able to speak intelligently about the basics of payroll, it is really more about discussing the general benefits of your client switching payroll--you simply need to know enough to get the invoice.

Learn more about how to steer the conversation to payroll here--and get that invoice.

We’ve put together a number of short videos to help you learn how to introduce payroll to potential clients, be able to “talk the talk” and then get the invoice.
