ObamaCare: driving business owners crazy, one restaurant at a time!
The next time you are meeting with a restaurant owner, ask him about his thoughts on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) commonly known as “ObamaCare”. What your restaurant owning prospects are going through is very trying. Basically, the ACA dictates that any employer over 50 employees must now provide health insurance to any employee that is “full time”. What is full time according to the ACA?
30 hours a week.
Why is this such a big deal to restaurants and some retail? Because they have large numbers of employees who work a different number of hours in any given week. What the ACA dictates is that you accumulate all the hours worked in a month and divide by the number of weeks. If the number is 30 hours or more, then the employer must pay for that employee for that month. If the number is lower the next month, they may not have to pay. Confusing? You bet it is and frustrating for your clients.
If you ask your prospects about ObamaCare and they complain about complying, tell them:
“We have a Cloud-based system that tracks all employee hours, chooses the employees that will definitely need to be covered for a given month and even populates all the relevant forms for compliance. We can even do the payroll and all the tax filing. Would having all calculation and compliance in a simple to use cloud app that you can access from anywhere help you? Would you like to learn more?”

According to the USC School of Psychiatry, where someone’s feet are pointing says a lot about their state of mind. If, in your next meeting, you can see your prospect’s feet, take a close look. Are the feet pointing to the side? Your prospect may not be buying into what you are telling them. If their feet are pointing at you, they are engaged and believe what you are saying.
